THERMALLY RESPONSIVE DEVICE Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC G21C7/12

Abstract RU 2304314 C2

FIELD: nuclear power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed thermally responsive device intended for passive protection of nuclear reactors and industrial plants designed for operation at limited ambient temperatures has flanges 1 with axial projections 2 and holes 3, fusible component 4, rings 5, auxiliary control rods 6, and main control rods 7. Fusible component 4 is made of metal or alloy and disposed between flanges. Control rods are assembled in pairs by means of rings 5 and are engageable through holes 3 with flanges 1; main control rods 7 are loaded by final element. Thermally responsive device is placed together with final element into regulated space and depends for its operation on variations in aggregate condition of fusible component.

EFFECT: enhanced reliability of reactor and its safety in operation.
