FIELD: electronic engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed high-power continuously and intermittently acting O-type EHF traveling-wave tube has slow-wave structure of string of coupled resonators and periodic magnetic focusing system. Slow-wave structure is made in the form of multilayer structure having no drift tube and assembled of interconnected thin alternating conducting rings and diaphragms forming a number of coupled resonators. Vacuum shell of traveling-wave tube is formed by alternating circular pole pieces and circular bushings made of magnetically soft material which are disposed along slow-wave structure extremely close to shell and transit-time channel and interconnected through vacuum-tight joint. Such arrangement provides for high levels of magnetic field on axis and in small-diameter transit-time channel of tube.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of tube, reduces transverse dimensions of slow-wave structure resonators.
