FIELD: construction, particularly load-bearing building structure state determination.

SUBSTANCE: method involves calculating load applied to metal structures and load-bearing structure strength; determining actual values of structure parameters by instrumental investigation performing; analyzing project documentation and selecting structure groups in metal building structure; determining structure member parameters for instrumental investigation; fixing performance criteria for technical state estimation; determining actual performance criteria values; comparing the determined values with admissible ones and making decision if object may be used in future. Technical load-bearing frame state index is current (actual) failure risk. Criteria for technical object state estimation are fixed failure risk values, namely standard failure risk, maximum permissible failure risk and threshold failure risk, as well as standard load-bearing structure reliability levels, namely standard structure reliability level and maximum permissible one. Visual and tool investigation makes possible to detect the most defective and the least defective structures. After that one may set load-bearing structure danger levels and danger level ranks from information about technical state of the most defective and the least defective structure, set reliability level of the most defective structure and that of the least defective one from danger levels and danger level ranks, determine average reliability level and calculate actual object failure risk for each group of building structures. Actual object failure risk is compared with fixed ones and each building structure is included into one of the following groups: safe, abnormal or tumbledown building structure.

EFFECT: increased quality and decreased labor inputs.
