FIELD: spindles of rolling mill, possibly used in transmissions of drive units of rolling mills, heavy machines where torque transmission may cause canting of axes of joined shafts.

SUBSTANCE: rolling mill spindle includes intermediate shaft with clutches for joining to rolling roll and to roll of pinion stand. Each clutch of spindle includes sleeve with outer rim fit onto rolling roll or roll of pinion stand; additional sleeve pressed on stem of intermediate shaft of spindle and yoke. The last has two toothed rims engaged with outer toothed rims of sleeves and it embraces both sleeves. Said sleeves are mutually joined by means of spheres. Inner sphere is formed on ring inserted to sleeve pressed on intermediate shaft of spindle; outer sphere is formed on other sleeve. Centering of teeth of sleeves in teeth of yoke is realized by means of spherical rings arranged in lids and in additional lids of yoke. In additional lids spherical rings are spring-loaded. Invention provides doubled rotation angle of spindle relative to roll axis at keeping canting angle of sleeve teeth relative to yoke teeth equal to 2.5°.

EFFECT: shortened distance between joined machines and therefore less surface areas for mounting equipment.
