FIELD: metallurgy; treatment of molten metals with inert gases and construction of casting ladles.
SUBSTANCE: jet flows are formed at angle α relative to the normal of working part of blowing device ranging from +45o to -45o; bubble flows are formed by dividing the single jet flows into elementary flows by profiling their cross sections. Device proposed for realization of this method includes ceramic block which is component of ladle lining, blowing unit with through passages for jet and bubble flows of inert gas extending on side of its working part and unit for delivery of inert gas to blowing unit which is made in form of metal reservoir with wall embedded in ceramic block and connecting branch pipe located on side of its base. Through passages for forming the jet flows of inert gas are located at angle α relative to the normal of working part of blowing unit ranging from +45o to -45o; passages for forming the bubble flows of inert gas have periodic profiles of cross sections.
EFFECT: facilitated procedure; enhanced reliability; increased productivity; improved quality of metal.
