FIELD: mechanical engineering; engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices creating rarefaction in gas and vapour-gas media in definite volumes. Invention makes it possible to build vacuum at pumping of gas or vapour-gas medium by vacuum pump. Proposed vacuum pump contains crank mechanism, timing mechanism, device to ignite fresh charge in cylinder, supply system, lubrication system, cooling system and starting system, fuel system throttle valve, fuel meter, vacuum main line furnished with throttle device made for changing passage area. Pump is furnished with system to regulate rarefaction in intake manifold-interacting with throttle mechanism, throttle valve and fuel meter and made to limit minimum and maximum rarefaction in process of operation. System is made to regulate rarefaction either depending on crankshaft speed or by signal from vacuum sensor in intake manifold. Diesel engine fuel feed equipment can be used to ignite charge in cylinder. Units of timing mechanism are made so that no overlapping of intake and exhaust valves takes place. Compression ratio exceeds 15 at spark ignition and more than 30 when diesel engine fuel equipment is used at pumping out air. Filter is installed on vacuum main line on section intake manifold-space where vacuum is being built. Charger is installed on vacuum main line which can be made, for instance, with turbine drive or with drive from crankshaft. Pump has several compression stages, with combustion taking place in last stage.
