FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device designed for separating current-carrying conductor has case and two current leads brought out of case. The latter accommodates conductor length interconnecting both current leads and starting facility. The latter functions to generate compressed gas in amount sufficient for separating conductor length on occurrence of leakage current. Starting facility is held free of firing materials and is chosen for thermal liberation of compressed gas in amount required for separation from driving facility due to operation of leakage current.
EFFECT: enhanced operating reliability and safety.
