FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to a device for ignition of spark arresters with trigger electrode (T) placed in or at one of the main electrodes (H2) and insulated in regard to this main electrode (H2). Trigger electrode (T) is coupled electrically to the other main electrode by means of at least one more element switching over voltage or controlling voltage. There is an air gap between the trigger electrode (T) and the other main electrode (H1). Trigger electrode (T) together with insulating transition (I) and layer of material (M) having lower conductivity that material of one of the main electrodes form a laminated structure representing layered dielectric in the form of in-series first partial capacitance (Ci) with dielectric (I) of the insulating transition and the second partial capacitance (Cm) with material (M) serving as dielectric.
EFFECT: characteristic time curve may be set within wide ranges without sacrificing operational reliability and long-term stability of the arrester.
