FIELD: the invention may be used for controlling quality of insulation as in working conditions, so in technological process of its manufacturing.
SUBSTANCE: for investigated material they measure thermally stimulated currents of depolarization of samples of different thickness and burning temperature. They investigate only maximums of the spectrum of the thermally stimulated currents of depolarization depended on forming of volume charge that changes density maximum of thermally stipulated currents of depolarization. The value of strengthening of insulating material is defined according to the difference of density of the mentioned maximum of thermally stimulated currents of depolarization samples of different thickness taken at equal temperature of burning.
EFFECT: the invention allows determine the strengthening of insulating material depending on its thickness.
