FIELD: transport engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention provides method of monitoring and control of power and energy consumed by transport system, including electric vehicles. Proposed transport system has power supply including one or several power supply substations connected with external power supply system. Said substation or substations supply power to traction substations to supply sections of supply lines and current-collecting devices installed on vehicles. Each vehicle has power converter supplied with power from current collector which control power delivered to traction motor of vehicle. Simultaneously current value of electric power and/or energy consumed from external power supply system by substation or substations is measured. If power or energy consumed from external system tends to exceed preset threshold value, preset adjustable value is sent to one or more vehicles acting onto vehicle carry-on converter for temporarily reduce power and/or speed of rotation of traction motor.
EFFECT: provision of limitation of maximum consumed power or energy in transport system, optimization of service expenses.
