FIELD: railways.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrified railways. Method for controlling an electric rolling stock and a traction power supply system consists in measuring the current value of electric power and/or energy consumed from the external power supply system, and issuing a preset value of the adjustable value to one or more vehicles. Adjusting effects are therein issued simultaneously to the electric rolling stock and the voltage, power, and sectioning apparatuses of the traction power supply system; wherein the control of the power supply system and the electric rolling stock is conducted in a coordinated way between said system and rolling stock with account for the mutual influence. The electric rolling stock and the traction power supply system therein consist of electric traction vehicles and one or more traction substations supplying power to sections of electricity supply lines and the current-collecting apparatuses connected to electricity supply lines, installed on the vehicles.
EFFECT: increase in the energy efficiency and reliability of operation of the traction power supply system and the electric rolling stock.
