METHOD OF PRODUCTION OF ETHYL ALCOHOL Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC C12P7/06 

FIELD: alcohol industry.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes boiling of alcohol out of wort in wort column for conversion of ethyl alcohol and accompanying admixtures into wort distillate with vapor from this column, cleaning of wort distillate from overhead and intermediate admixtures in fractionating column working in hydroselection mode and rectification of fractionation intermediate product in alcohol column. Fractions containing mixture of overhead and intermediate admixtures are taken from condensers of wort and fractionating columns, carbon dioxide separator and dirty distillate alcohol trap and are directed to feed plate of first distillation column. Fractions from condensers of alcohol and methanol columns and pure distillate alcohol trap are fed to upper feed plate of distillation column. Hot water, fusel alcohol from rectifying column and fraction of intermediate admixtures from the second distillation column are fed to upper plate of first distillation column; still liquid of first distillation column is fed to upper plate of fractionating column.

EFFECT: improved quality of finished product due to reduced amount of toxic admixtures.
