FIELD: carbon industry; production of anode masses.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes metered delivery of coke preliminarily ground to size of lesser than 0.3 mm for mixing with pitch. Mixture thus obtained is subjected to treatment in cavitation disperser of hydraulic impact type where hydraulic impact and cavitation pulses are generated in succession. Anode masses made from carbon-to-carbon composition have specific resistance of 62 mkOhms m, total porosity of 24%, apparent density of 1.52 kg/cm3 and compressive strength of 50.9 Mpa.
EFFECT: reduction of power requirements; reduced usage of metals; enhanced homogeneity of carbon-to-carbon composition and enhanced ecological safety at working positions due to avoidance of mill grinding of coke.
