METHOD FOR STOPPING HEMORRHAGE OUT OF ESOPHAGEAL VARICOSE VEINS AND TRANSFORMABLE PROBE FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC A61B17/12

Abstract RU 2316272 C2

FIELD: medicine, surgery.

SUBSTANCE: compression should be fulfilled with a flexible spiral which should be introduced esophageally in its folded preset state to be then unfolded at the level of bleeding vessels into working state and on stopping the hemorrhage, hemostasis control and carrying out curative manipulations with the help of an endoscope and other means, through mouth cavity one should remove esophageally unfolded spiral with distal and proximal ends being withdrawn outwards to apply for cooling the affected esophageal part. Spiral's proximal end could be applied as a guide to deliver the endoscope's distal end to the affected esophageal part and means for direct delivery of medicinal preparation to the affected esophageal part and, also, for delivering nutritive substances while feeding a patient directly intragastrally by-passing the affected esophageal sector. The innovation enables to apply the spiral repeatedly, increase compression impact upon esophageal veins and decrease the diameter in the folded position in the course of its introduction into esophagus and withdrawal back.

EFFECT: higher efficiency.
