METHOD OF ENDOSCOPIC TREATMENT OF BLEEDING VARICOSE VEINS OF ESOPHAGUS AND STOMACH Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61B17/94 A61B17/12 A61K31/734 A61K9/14 A61P1/00

Abstract RU 2810246 C1

FIELD: medicine; surgery; gastroenterology.

SUBSTANCE: ligation of varicose nodes is performed. Algistab hemostatic agent is applied to the ligated varicose node and/or the resulting post-ligature defect using an insufflator at a distance of 1.5 cm from the surface of the wound. Treatment is carried out on the 1st, 3–4th and 6–8th days. The amount of Algistab hemostatic agent is calculated by the following formula: m = 0.4xD, where m is the amount of Algistab applied (g), D is the diameter of the ligated vein or post-ligature defect (cm).

EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase the reliability of local hemostasis, prevent recurrent bleeding, relieve pain, eliminate the formation of rough scars and strictures in the later stages of treatment by creating cytoprotective conditions for the reparative regeneration of formed defects, increase the remission of the underlying disease, and provide the opportunity to conduct early repeated endoscopic examinations thus reducing the number of emergency operations, reducing mortality, and improving the quality of life of patients.
