FIELD: medicine, surgery.
SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with treating chronic tonsillitis and in uvulopalatopharyngoplasty. The method suggested deals with ligating large arterial vessels that nourish faucial tonsil. Moreover, before removing the tonsils it is necessary to fulfill prophylactic ligation of vascular stem of faucial tonsil in the site of its inferior pole at the border of its juncture with lingual tonsil. One should carry out median traction, apply the ligature to suture the bottom of faucial tonsil's stem at its border with lingual tonsil. Then comes surgical dissection and cutting faucial tonsil above the sutured ligature. The present technique enables to minimize blood losses in the course of operation and prevent the risk of further complications.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
