FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to otorhinolaryngology. After removal of the palatine tonsil, a hemostatic collagen sponge is inserted intraoperatively into the cavity of the tonsillar niche. At the same time, after installation, the hemostatic sponge is impregnated with 2 ml of a 1% aqueous solution of an incomplete silver salt of polyacrylic acid containing silver nanoparticles using a 5.0 ml disposable syringe and a needle. A 5-minute exposure is provided.
EFFECT: method allows to improve the results of surgical treatment of chronic tonsillitis by accelerating hemostasis and reducing blood loss by optimizing intraoperative tamponade of palatine tonsil niches used to stop and prevent intra- and postoperative bleeding after tonsillectomy, and to reduce the rehabilitation period.
