FIELD: nuclear power engineering; nuclear reactor fuel microelements.
SUBSTANCE: proposed nuclear reactor fuel microelement simulator has microsphere made of porous carbon and pyrocarbon coating of 1.0-1.6 g/cm3 density applied to microsphere. Newly introduced in microsphere material are Ca2P2O7, Ca3(PO4)2 and stable isotope of fissionable products. Provision is made for keeping stable isotopes in microsphere at temperature of minimum 1 500 °C for 5-10 minutes which is sufficient for coating deposition.
EFFECT: ability of affording controlled content of stable isotopes in fuel microelement simulator.
