FIELD: agriculture, in particular, seedling planting method.

SUBSTANCE: method involves sowing seeds; undercutting roots; forming protective soil-and-root structure and selecting seedlings; providing direct action upon seedling root system by performing successive staged undercutting of roots at different levels; undercutting roots in horizontal and vertical planes for forming of protective soil-and-root structure and providing homogeneity thereof by intensifying seedling root system development and providing directed spatial orienting of said system in soil layer near roots; performing root undercutting procedure in horizontal plane at least two times at different depths depending upon seedling development phase; providing each root undercutting procedure in horizontal plane to depth exceeding previous depth over the entire width of ridge under cultivation procedure; additionally providing root undercutting procedure in vertical plane in spacing along rows; additionally providing root undercutting procedure in vertical plane transverse to spacing.

EFFECT: improved retention of root system during seedling selection and transplanting procedures, improved seedling establishment and increased yield.
