FIELD: ferrous metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of pelletizing charge in pelletizer for producing standardized wet pellets; placing them by layers on conveyer belt; blowing through by hot air streams; transporting them to firing machine. Layer of pellets are laid onto grate of firing machine for heat treatment of them while providing suction of furnace gases through layer; removing exhaust furnace gases to atmosphere through flue system and chimney. Air for blowing through layer of wet pellets is heated by recuperation of heat of exhaust furnace gases in heat exchanger arranged in flue system. Wet pellet layer is blown through by hot air streams in additional heat insulation hearth in working space of which said conveyer belt is arranged and in which air flow with temperature 20 - 300°C moving by countercurrent relative to layer of pellets is generated. At inlet of hearth blower is mounted for suction of hot air out of working space of hearth. At outlet of hearth second blower is mounted for pumping hot air from heat exchanger into hearth.
EFFECT: lowered air flow-rate for heat treatment of pellets.
