FIELD: analyzing materials for detecting radioactive materials and sources using radiation methods.
SUBSTANCE: proposed radiation detector incorporating provision for determining kind ,location, and motion direction of radiation sources has at least one layer incorporating components recording fast neutrons, at least one layer of those recording thermal neutrons, at least one layer incorporating components recording gamma-rays, at least one polyethylene layer, and at least one layer made of lead foil; all layers are made separately for displacement and varying sequence of their disposition one after another; electric couplings are made in the form of stub connections; optical scintillating components are made in the form of rods disposed on one plane for varying distance between them; slot accommodating spectrum-displacing scintillating fiber is provided on at least one edge of each rod; photodiodes provided with leads for connecting them to scintillation burst recording circuits are disposed on ends of fibers.
EFFECT: enlarged recording range for penetrating rays and their types.
