FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: scintillation detector, having N radiation converters fitted with rows of light-reemitting fibres coated with light-reflecting and light-protective materials and photodetectors, where the slow and/or fast neutron radiation converters are in form of regular three-dimensional figures arranged layerwise in rows in parallel planes, where each radiation converter is connected in series to neighbouring radiation converters by two light-reemitting fibres on the diagonals of opposite faces of the regular three-dimensional figure in crossing directions, wherein the radiation converters and the light-reemitting fibres are fitted with contact in grooves of adjacent rows of radiation converters, and the area occupied by the converters in each layer is smaller than the area on the previous layer moving away from the geometric centre of the detector.
EFFECT: design of a universal scintillation detector.
