FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in the scintillation detector, each radiation converter is connected in series to neighbouring radiation converters by two light-reemitting fibres on diagonals of two opposite faces of a regular shaped solid figure in intersecting directions. The radiation converters and the light-reemitting fibres are coated with light-reflecting and light-protective material. The light-reemitting fibres are in contact with grooves in adjacent rows of radiation converters.
EFFECT: fewer detection channels and broader functional capabilities of the detector.
