FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in a hodoscope, having N radiation converters fitted with rows of light-reemitting fibres coated with light-reflecting and light-protective materials and photodetectors, the radiation converters are in form of regular three-dimensional figures arranged layerwise in rows in parallel planes, where each radiation converter is connected in series to the neighbouring radiation converters by two light-reemitting fibres on the diagonals of opposite faces of the regular three-dimensional figures in intersecting directions, wherein the light-reemitting fibres are fitted with contact in grooves of adjacent rows of radiation converters, and the radiation converters are fitted with spaces in between them, said spaces being filled by materials which alter the radiation spectrum or convert the radiation into another form.
EFFECT: higher functional capabilities of a segmented detector, reduced dependency of detector sensitivity on its position relative the radiation source, and high light-gathering efficiency.
