FIELD: material treatment by means of laser.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes scanning of polluted material surface with generated laser beam through polymeric film material transparent for laser radiation. Laser beam intensity should meet following correlation: 0.1qth < q < qth, where q is laser beam intensity on polluted surface of material; qth is intensity limit of laser radiation complying with boiling temperature of radioactive film material being removed under normal pressure. Film material is disposed at distance of 0.1 - 50 mm from polluted surface of material.
EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness due to reduced potential danger of radioactive contamination in the course of decontamination, reduced amount of decontamination products.
