FIELD: electrical engineering; overvoltage protection of electrical equipment, wiring, electrical devices, circuits, and distribution networks.
SUBSTANCE: proposed overvoltage protective device 1 has protective unit 2 connected to electrical equipment through connecting circuit 3 incorporating electric current interrupting means 4 free to assume OFF-position corresponding to opening of circuit 3 and to its closing. Interrupting means 4 is held in closed position by interlocking means 5; opening means 6 of connecting circuit 3 operates when temperature of unit 2 is brought to preset value. Circuit opening means 6 is made in the form of bimetal strip responding to heat released by unit 2. Bimetal strip is installed so that it puts interlocking means 5 out of active state as soon as temperature is brought to preset value so as to bring interrupting means 4 in open position of connecting circuit 3.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability.
