FIELD: refractory industry; manufacture of crucibles for melting metals and alloys in induction-heating furnaces; stomatology; metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes preparation of highly-concentrated suspension of quartz glass by wet grinding, stabilization of this suspension, mixing with filler, molding by casting into gypsum porous molds, drying and hardening. Preparation of highly-concentrated suspension includes its modification by addition of amorphous silica in the amount of 3-5 mass-%. Then it is mixed with filler made from quartz glass at size of particles lesser than 200 mcm in the amount of 25-35 mass-%; mixing procedure is continued for at least 0.5 h. Hardening is carried out in water glass solution for at least 20 minutes at additional drying at temperature of 100°C for an hour or heat treatment at temperature of 950°C holding at maximum temperature for no more than an hour.
EFFECT: enhanced heat resistance; increased number of heats in induction-heating furnaces; reduced power requirements.
