SUBSTANCE: method for patrol inspection and localisation of a radioactive substance comprises the following steps: providing a background radioactivity value of the medium; collecting radioactivity values from the inspected region using a detector at a plurality of sampling points on the patrol inspection route; calculating radioactivity distribution in the inspected region based on the collected radioactivity values and the background radioactivity value; and determining the position of the radioactive substance based on the radioactivity distribution; dividing the inspected region into a plurality of subregions.
EFFECT: high efficiency of detecting radioactive sources.
