FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: according to the invention, laser thermal keratoplasty is performed by use of laser beaming at ytterbium-erbium glass with wave length 1.54 mcm and pulse energy 160 mJ/cm2, diameter of laser spot 200-300 mcm and diameter of central optic zone 6.5 mm. Coagulates are applied evenly on both sides in two opposite meridians of weak axis, in accordance with derived relationship between refraction effect and amount of coagulates, in case of regular astigmatism. In irregular astigmatism, coagulates are applied unevenly in opposite meridians of one axis, depending on refraction force in each meridian.
EFFECT: astigmatism is eliminated and normal sight is achieved followed by rapid rehabilitation of patients and absence of post-operational corneal complications.
