FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method implies pumped base oil probing with optical beam at wave length within 960≤λ1≤1100 Nm perpendicularly to pumping direction; measurement of input and output optical radiation intensity of probed oil; detection of optical density; at that simultaneously coaxially to base beam probation with optical beams at two more wave length within 1520≤λ2≤1600 Nm relatively to water absorption and 1700≤λ3≤1800 nm relatively to oil adsorption , optical density of radiation at specified wave lengths is determined, and oil and water concentration is determined under equations set.
EFFECT: provides widening of measuring range of oil water content and high accuracy and ability to perform measurements in pumped base oil in pipeline.
