FIELD: medicine; surgery.
SUBSTANCE: surgical stapler consists of case with rotating and forwarding spiral needle connected to rotary drive, clamping inserts mounted on distal end of case, designed for fixation of sutured tissue areas and furnished with relative position control device. Spiral needle is atraumatic or hollow containing fibre inside and at least two complete turns, and is movable by ways along clamping inserts, to at least full-length spiral. Stapler contains device for capture of needle and/or fibre point and means of needle delivery through tissue.
EFFECT: reduced sutured tissue trauma number; improved quality of applied suture and reliability of stapler operation due to elimination of needle movement failure.
