FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns chemistry of adamantine derivatives, particularly a new method for obtaining 1,3-di(4-R-phenylseleno)adamantanes of the general formula , which can be of interest as semiproducts in synthesis of some biologically active substances. The method involves reaction for producing 1,3-di(4-R-phenylseleno) adamantanes by adjunction of di-(4-R)-phenylselenides, i.e. bis-phenylselenide or bis-4-chlorphenylselenide, to 1,3-dehydroadamantane or 5,7-dimethyl-1,3-dehydroadamantane respectively at equimolar reagent ratios in absolute diethyl ether medium at temperature of 34-40°C for 0.5-1 hours.
EFFECT: expanded range of chemical compounds, particularly of new 1,3-di(4-R-phenylseleno)adamantanes with high yield.
