SUBSTANCE: invention refers to monitoring engineering and can be used in mechanical engineering for identification (detection) of heated metal and nonmetallic products. Infrared photodetector is exposed as heated metal products are moved relative to sensitive element of the apparatus shaped by inductive sensitive element designed as inductance coil mounted in circular slot of open-end centre-holed ferrite core, and infrared photodetector. First output of apparatus generates signal of logic-1 level containing heated metal product identification-related information, whereas second output includes voltage of logic-0 level. With heated nonmetallic products moving, signal of logic-1 level containing heated nonmetallic product identification-related information is generated only in second output of apparatus, while first output of apparatus includes voltage of logic-0 level.
EFFECT: provided reliable performance in infrared radiation of outside heated metal and nonmetallic objects and technological infrared sources.
