FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus accommodates sensitive element formed by inductive sensitive element designed as inductance coil arranged in circular groove of open end of open-centre ferrite core, capacitive sensitive element provided in the central hole of the ferrite core coaxially, and two infrared photodetectors containing in-between inductive and capacitive sensitive elements. Once heated metal or nonmetal product travels relative to the sensitive element of the apparatus, it sequentially passes the first infrared photodetector, crosses electromagnetic field of the inductive sensitive element, interacts to electric field of capacitive sensitive element and passes the second infrared photodetector. Herewith on the first output of the apparatus, logic "1" signal containing information concerning identification of heated metal or nonmetal product is processed, and on the second output of the apparatus, logic "0" voltage is fixed. In case unheated metal product travels, logic "1" signal containing information concerning its identification is process on the second output only. Herewith, on the first output of the apparatus, logic "0" voltage is fixed.
EFFECT: higher performance reliability ensured by elimination of malfunctioning caused by extraneous infrared sources.
