FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device has a sensitive element formed by inductive, capacitive sensitive elements and an infrared photodetector. The inductive sensitive element is in form of an inductance coil placed in the annular groove of the open end of a ferrite core with a centre hole. The infrared photodetector is placed on the side of the open end of the ferrite core coaxial to its centre hole. The capacitive sensitive element is in form of a current-conducting plate with a centre hole which is coaxial to the centre hole of the ferrite core of the inductive sensitive element. Outputs of the device are outputs of first and second AND logic elements, which are in form of open H-type outputs, which enable to transform the device into a sensor for controlling the position of hot metal and nonmetal articles with one output by connecting the first and second outputs of the device to each other.
EFFECT: broader functional capabilities of the device.
