FIELD: physics, measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to thermometry, specifically to powder thermal indicators designed for heating temperature testing of iron or medium-alloy environments of not alloyed chromium steels, or other metals and alloys heated overall or locally. Thermal indicator composition is chosen by chemistry so that it inflames at required heating temperature of a product. This technical result is reached by that thermal indicator containing components flagging specified temperature range, contains potassium permanganate and polyethylene at following ratio, wt %: potassium permanganate 96-97%, polyethylene 3-4%.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of heating temperature testing of parts (blanks) prepared for welding within 340...360°C.
