FIELD: metallurgy, electrolysis.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to method of control over feeding powder materials into electrolytic cell for aluminium production by electrolysis in melted salts with implementation of at least one additions feeder of powder materials and at least one punch with drive; invention also refers to system of implementation of method. The method includes forming at least one aperture in the crust of a solidified electrolyte by means of the punch and introducing powdered material through the said aperture according to a normal feeding procedure; also at a certain moment t0 an electric signal is generated providing punch lowering by means of the drive; then the moment t is measured when the punch reaches a certain low position; further there is determined a value of at least one characteristic F of feeding functioning based on the value at t0 and value obtained at the moment t; then there is determined if this functioning is abnormal on the basis of at least one criterion of functioning and on the basis of value of the characteristic or characteristics of functioning; if functioning is not acknowledged as abnormal, then normal feeding procedure is maintained; if functioning is acknowledged as abnormal, then at least one correcting procedure of adjusting/normalizing is actuated to return to normal feeding of powder materials.
EFFECT: facilitating control over feeding procedure even during anode effects.
