FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to containers intended for long storage and transportation of the used nuclear fuel. The container comprises a metal case including the bottom, external and internal cylindrical enclosures with the space there between filled by a material for absorption of neutrons, tight partition between the mentioned space and internal space of the container. The said partition represents, at least, two covers arranged one above another on common base and forming with the latter two concentric sealing edges. High heat conductivity elements attached to aforesaid enclosures are passed through the neutrons absorbing material. The external cylindrical enclosure of the case is made up of, at least, two ring segments with longitudinal ribbing interconnected by means of tight joints. The mentioned high heat conductivity elements represent radial longitudinal sheet elements attached to external and internal cylindrical enclosures of the case with the help of threaded elements. The said threaded elements are attached to the external cylindrical enclosures so as to make a tight joint there between. Radial longitudinal sheet elements have through holes and/or intermittent edges to form the recesses to be filled with the aforesaid material to lessen the flow of neutrons passing via radial longitudinal sheet elements in the container filled with waste nuclear fuel. External and internal cylindrical enclosures of the case and radial longitudinal sheet elements are fabricated from different materials. Radial longitudinal sheet elements are made from a material possessing higher heat conductivity, than materials from which external and internal cylindrical enclosures of the case are made.
