FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to method of hexachloroacetone production applied for making trichloracetic acid, chloroform, alkylenecarbonates, as well as solvent in polymer chlorination. Method consists in liquid phase chlorination of acetone or isopropanole in step temperature rise environment with the catalyst added. Thus the catalyst is mono- or dibasic carboxylic acid amide or mixed amides thereof. As a rule, mono- or dibasic carboxylic acid amide is a substance chosen of the group, including: carbamide, N-alkylcarbamide, formamide, N-alkylformamides, acetamide, N-alkylacetamides or variously mixed.
EFFECT: offered method allows for making hexachloracetone practically of quantitative yield, for considerably intensified process, for maximum use of chlorine, for eliminated sewage, solvent use and regeneration and thereby allows for essentially simplified hexachloracetone technology with maintained explosion safety and high efficiency of process.
