FIELD: electrics.
SUBSTANCE: ignition plug includes two electrodes separated by insulator and forming discharge channel with electrode gap diminishing from insulator towards output section of discharge channel and length exceeding maximum electrode gap. Minimum electrode gap is wider than breakdown distance in electrode gap air at minimum operation voltage in the plug, and electrode gap at insulator surface facing discharge channel is less than breakdown distance at that surface for indicated voltage. Insulator between plug electrodes is mounted so as it faces discharge channel by either its end or side surface.
EFFECT: enhanced life time of ignition plug, extended application range in oxidiser concentration in fuel mix, possible express adjustment of plasma torch parameters.
