FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurosurgery. The patient suffering from obstructive hydrocephalus after ventriculoperitoneal shunting, being in stable state receives endoscopic perforation of third ventricle fundus. 3-7 days later temporary occlusion of ventriculoperitoneal shunt follows, and in case the patient stays in stable state within 7-10 days after shunt ligation, it is removed.
EFFECT: higher clinical effectiveness in the patients suffering from obstructive hydrocephalus following ventriculoperitoneostomy, lower probability of hypertensive hydrocephalic dislocation syndrome.
