FIELD: physics, measurement.
SUBSTANCE: device is made in the form of Clamp-On or Inline flow metre integrated in pipeline and featuring at least two ultrasonic converters transmitting and/or receiving measurement signals along certain sound path. To create multichannel ultrasonic device, at least one reflecting element is positioned in sound path passing through pipeline/gauge pipe at certain distance from internal wall. Adjustment and result assessment unit defines measured medium flow rate in pipeline/gauge pipe by difference of measurement signal proliferation time. In the versions, reflecting element has a form of pipe either fixated in pipeline/gauge pipe by partitions, or connected to pipeline/gauge pipe in pipe cross-section corner area, the number of corners exceeding three. Reflecting elements can also take form of plates made and/or positioned so that they cause flow resistance. Adjustment and result assessment unit transports reflecting plates to or from sound path by mechanism.
EFFECT: simplified defining of flow profile along with enhanced precision of flow rate measurement in pipelines with large internal diametre.
