FIELD: physics, measurements.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to geophysics and can be used in forecasting earthquake parametres. To this end, one- and/or three-component acoustic emission receivers are mounted in rocks that feature intrinsic frequencies of acoustic emission complying with frequencies of acoustic emissions of earthquake signs. In compliance with the proposed method, a useful signal is recorded. Acoustic emission spectra S(f) are calculated. oversized S(f) at preset frequency f0, or in the low frequency range, by kσ, allows proposing the reception of abnormal acoustic signal, i.e. earthquake sign advancing the earthquake by the period covering from several days to tens of minutes. Note that k=1÷3, with σ making the spectrum calculation error.
EFFECT: simple and reliable method.
