FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in manufacture and repair of machine cylindrical parts, for instance in worn out shafts, for instance for application of special alloys on shaft journals. Surface of rotary part is heated by electric arc to condition close to melting. Filler wire, end of which has shape of cone, is oriented with its longitudinal axis relative to axis of part rotation at the angle and is supplied to zone of arc burning with permanent axial force. Filler is rotated under condition of match between vector of cone base circular speed and vector of part generatrix circular speed. Filler wire is supplied with the speed that is 1.15…1.25 times more than the rate of its melting. Tungsten electrode relative to axis of wire rotation is diverged in plane that is perpendicular to axis of rotation for 24…28° to the side that is opposite to part rotation, and also for 16…18° in direction of welding. Arc capacity is increased simultaneously with connection of line feed.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to produce welded layers with thickness of 0,3…0,6 mm, allowance for further treatment within the limits of 0,1…0,12 mm per side, at that savings of filler material make 30…40%.
