FIELD: physics; measurement.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to fibre optic sensors, particularly to a sensor head and a current or magnetic field sensor. The fibre optic sensor head (2) for a current or magnetic field sensor contains an optical fibre which comprises a magneto-optic active sensor fibre (3) in optical connection and at least one polarisable input fibre (5). The sensor fibre (3) is freed from its protective cover. The sensor head (2) also contains a capillary (6), in which is put at least one sensor fibre (3). Sensor head (2) is further made with possibility of bending near the sensor fibre (3). To reduce friction between the sensor fibre (3) and the capillary (6), there is an antifriction medium in the capillary. The antifriction medium (7) is oil or a dry lubricant. The capillary is enclosed in a cover (8). The sensor head (8) provides for very significant temperature independent measurement, easier mounting, as well as measurement on conductors with large cross section.
EFFECT: provision for temperature independent measurement of current or magnetic field using an easily mounted sensor head, providing for measurement at large diametres of the sensor coil, necessary, for example for measuring current in conductors with large cross section.
