FIELD: electric measurements.

SUBSTANCE: fiber-optic current transformer can be used in electrical power engineering, high voltage measuring technique, relay protection and automatics. Fiber-optic current transformer has current-leading circuit embraced by magneto-optic sensitive element in form of coil made of optical fiber; aid for introduction of polarized light signal in fiber and aid for dividing polarized light to mutually orthogonal linear polarized components and unit for transforming components to intensity-standardized electrical signals as well as measuring signal forming unit. The latter is used for determining measured value. All the members are optically connected with sensitive member. Members of fiber-optic current transformer are disposed onto reference isolator covered with protecting coating; isolator is provided with high-voltage fitting and zero potential flange.

EFFECT: improved reliability and stability under conditions of long exploitation at all kinds of electrical voltage, mechanical loads and different environmental factors.
