FIELD: mechanics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to produce staple poly(ethylene terephthalate) fiber by blowing the molten material jet with the help of power carrier flow. The proposed blowing head comprises the casing with its top furnished with a tangential hole receiving the power carrier and the funnel with a variable-section bore receiving effusing from the molten material feed nozzle arranged coaxially with the funnel. The casing top and bottom form, between themselves, an annular working nozzle and toroidal pressure chamber housing a ball-like power carrier flow separator. The ball radius equals that of the tangential hole.
EFFECT: increased quality of staple fiber and power savings.
