FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: mixture is injected tangential to melting chamber wall of plasma furnace and it is melted. Arc plasma in the chamber volume is drived by plasma microwave discharge and into it is injected mixture in the first stream of reducing gas and it is formed whirling the second stream of reducing gas. Through the plasma of microwave discharge additionally perpendicularly to wall of mentioned chamber it is passed electric current, herewith inside the chamber it is created axial magnetic field. Particles of mixture, heated under the operation of hot plasma gas and microwave electromagnetic field and emitted by centrifugal forces on chamber wall form films with providing of mixture reduction. Reduced iron is collected, after what it is implemented divided discharge of metal and slag.
EFFECT: guaranteed passing of mixture through area of plasma discharge and achieving of heat input optimal assignment by way of film movement of molten mixture.
