FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to plasma generators, namely to plasma reactors with an increased volume of plasma and the amount of electric energy introduced into the plasma, and can be used in metallurgy for direct reduction of metals, in materials science for the synthesis of powders, in plasma chemistry for the realization of high-temperature chemical reactions, in the environment protection plans for processing industrial waste, as well as other areas of technology. Proposed is a multi-stage plasma torch that includes, as a first stage, a discharge chamber with a central electrode, a microwave generator and means for introducing reaction gases and the base material into the discharge chamber, constant voltage source, the negative pole of which is connected to the central electrode, and positive - to the walls of the chamber, a magnetic system with an external solenoid, a pipe installed at the outlet of the discharge chamber, and as subsequent stages - pairs of electrodes placed in the pipe between its wall and the axis of the tube and spaced along its length and azimuth, each pair of electrodes is connected to a current source.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the power of a hybrid plasma torch while preserving the advantages of a combined discharge.
