FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: thermite type mixture with layer thickness of 1.5-4.0 mm is put onto a processed surface. Combustion of the mixture is initiated. As a result of exothermal reaction, the reducing agent of the mixture reacts with rust. During the redox reaction, a large amount of heat energy is released, which provides for burning, including organic compounds on welding surfaces. The surface of the component is reduced to pure iron.
EFFECT: reduced labour input and faster cleaning process.
